Do med schools look at how difficult were an applicants college classes?

My counselor told me that all med schools care about is GPA and MCAT scores. So do they look at what kind of classes you took, and the difficulties of those classes? I ask this question because I'm taking intro to calculus, when I can be taking Calculus since it'll be easier.
